Duncan Creek will be implementing a new reading program this year. Students will work to build reading stamina by meeting nightly reading goals set for their grade levels. The program will begin in September.
Reading Can Take You Anywhere is a program designed to help students build reading stamina at home. On September 1st, your child will receive a reading passport. The reading passport will contain an at home reading goal for your child. If your child meets the goal each day or week, you will sign the passport. Once your child has filled all 20 squares on the grid, you will return the passport to your child's teacher. On the last school day of each month students who have completed the grid and have met their goal for the month the passports will receive a stamp in their passport and a prize. Once the passports have been turned in and prizes have been given, students will need to move on to the next month's passport page and begin recording reading.
